Two youths, from the Harlesden area of Brent, have been found guilty of the attempted murder of a 27-year-old man who was shot in the back at Harlesden Tube station earlier this year, following an investigation by British Transport Police.

The 17-year-old and 16-year-old males, were found guilty on Friday 18 November after a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court.

Two other youths, a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were found guilty of possession of a firearm in a public place to enable another to cause fear of unlawful violence on Tuesday 22 November. The girl was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers attended Harlesden and Willesden Junction stations at 2pm on Wednesday, 9 March after a report of a man receiving a gunshot wound.

The victim, from south-east London, had been shot in the back as he tried to run down the stairs to flee the group at Harlesden station following an altercation on the street.

He managed to board a Bakerloo line train to Willesden Junction rail station, where his injuries were reported to police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

Paramedics from the LAS administered treatment to the man, who was taken to hospital for further treatment and later discharged.

The four youths, whose names cannot be released due to legal reasons, will be sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on Thursday 5 January 2012.
