ADVANCE ALERT OF ENGINEERING WORKS: HereToThere Network Web
« on: March 03, 2013, 04:57:40 PM »
This message is for all.

This WILL affect users of SuzyScott.com, ScotBus.com, HereToTherePubllishing.com, HereToThereShop.com/blog,  dundeebuses.info and members of Dundee Area Bus Forum and Anglia & Thames Valley Bus Forum

This will NOT affect Here To There or A&TVBF or Suzy, on Facebook or Twitter, or Suzy’s LiveJournal.

This will happen from the evening of Thursday 7th March 2013 at 23.00 Greenwich Mean Time/22.00 Central European Time/18.00 Eastern Standard Time, etc. Our new host is making upgrades to their network. There will be no replacement road transport while this work is going on :-) as most of you will be in bed by this point… In all seriousness, we quote from the host…

“… We’ve been busy over the last few months heavily investing in the future by building a new hosting cluster, which will provide better performance, faster backup, greater scalability and even better uptime.
This cluster will replace our older hardware, and we’re now going to begin moving our Plesk servers over to the new infrastructure so that all our customers can benefit. Of course, this means a little bit of downtime to move you over.
Your domain is hosted on cloud07.unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk – this server will be moving on Thursday 7th March 2013 @ 23:00. It is anticipated that it will take around 6 hours to move and be on a different IP when the migration concludes …”
So, what does this mean for you? If you access any of the above via their domain names, then no more than a few overnight hours of downtime, which should be clear in the morning.

(If you access any of these websites by an IP address, for whatever reason i.e. port monitoring at work, please get in touch with Suzy by PM or email – with a brief what and why, in confidence. We will then try to help by supplying our new IP addresses.)

If not? Don’t worry – you should not notice any difference. The work is happening overnight in the UK and Europe, and the impact minimal. You may wish to follow twitter.com/HereToTherePub where we can tweet news of any major disruptions or problems, once we are awake on Friday morning.
