Arriva Train Wales - AW

A new bus service (Service T9) will operate between Cardiff bay & Cardiff international Airport. The service will call at (Stand D1) at Cardiff bus station and will operate every 20mins from 04.25 & 23.25 (Mon- Sat) and 05.25 to 23.25 (Sun). Through ticketing is also available from most stations. East Midlands Train - EM

Services to and from London St Pancras have been revamped following extensive line speed improvement infrastructure works on the Midland Mainline route. This has allowed journey times to be considerably reduced, with new 'headline' fastest journey times of 2 hours for Sheffield to London and 91 minutes for Nottingham to

London. Average journey times for all services have also been reduced considerably. As result of these changes the clockface timetable has been altered to fit in with the new timings leading to new departure times for many services.

 

The 09.00 weekday service from London St Pancras to Kettering is extended to run through to Corby and the 10.26 Kettering to London St Pancras return service will start back from Corby at 10.16.

 

East Coast - GR

Mondays to Fridays: A new early morning departure from Newark Northgate to London Kings Cross will be  introduced at 05.35. This is an extension of the previous 05.44 service from Grantham.

Saturdays: The 07.00 service from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh will call additionally at Stevenage at 07.20.

 

Grand Central – GC

A new 4th service between Bradford Interchange and London Kings Cross will be introduced on 8 December.  This service will leave Bradford Interchange at 07.52 and will call at Halifax, Brighouse, Mirfield, Wakefield  Kirkgate, Pontefract Monkhill and Doncaster. There will be an additional service from London Kings Cross to

Bradford Interchange at 16.03. This service will call at Doncaster, Wakefield Kirkgate, Mirfield, Brighouse and Halifax.

 

Preston – Leeds

Blackpool/Preston-Leeds/York services will be suspended between Burnley Manchester Road and Hebden  Bridge between 9/11/13-30/3/14. This is to allow repairs to Holme Tunnel. Buses will replace trains between

Burnley and Hebden Bridge, with extended journey times.

 

Scotrail - SR

Timetables includes additional calls at Monifieth and on Sundays an improved hourly service on the Fife Circle.

Free Wi-Fi is being rolled out across our Class 170 and 380 fleets and fitted to selected stations. See also new Shipping Table 227D.

 

Station News

The following stations are expected to open at the start of the December 2013 timetable:

Energlyn & Churchill Park  Between Aber and Llanbradach on Cardiff-Rhymney route

James Cook University Hospital  Between Middlesbrough and Marton on the Whitby route

Cranbrook, which was mentioned in the May 2013, is now expected to open until at least May 2014.

 

Southern - SN

Following completion of infrastructure work by Network Rail and the introduction of new trains, many peak trains between South London and London Victoria via Balham are lengthened to a maximum of 10 carriages. More London Bridge via Sydenham trains will run at the maximum 10 car length and London Bridge via Peckham Rye trains at the maximum 8 car length, and some additional carriages for some East Grinstead London trains.

 

London Bridge:

As part of the Thameslink upgrade at the station no Southern services will call at London Bridge between 23/08/14-31/08/14-.Some Thameslink route services will be retimed and some Southeastern services may be altered.

 

London Overground:

An additional train will run from Barking to South Tottenham on weekdays at 0652.

 

West Coast Main Line:

The West Coast Main Line will be closed at Watford Junction between these dates:

03/05/14-05/05/14, 09/08/14-25/08/14, 25/12/14-29/12/14, 14/02/15-22/02/15 and 03/04/15-06/04/15. The alternative travel arrangements have yet to be published. Further details can be found on the Network Rail website: www.networkrail.co.uk/improvements/west-coast-main-line/.
