« on: June 30, 2015, 06:12:22 PM »
Grettons has purchased GJ52LUY Mercedes-Benz Vario 0814 with Plaxton Beaver 2 DP33F body from Chalkwell, Sittingbourne. It is not expected to enter service until September. It will replace Mercedes-Benz 709D L839FTX, which is expected to be withdrawn at the end of the current summer school term.

GJ52LUY entered service today in all-white livery. It is expected to receive its vinyls in the next couple of working days.

L839FTX has been sold to Tom Mortlock for preservation and is expected to be repainted into Morleys livery in due time.

J275TVU Scania K113 with Plaxton Paramount 3500 III body has made its last journey - to the scrap yard at Ramsey.

New in 1992 to Shearings, with 'cherished' registration SPR 35, it was re-registered J275TVU prior to being sold to Gretton's in 1996, when it was the flagship vehicle. It was withdrawn from service in early 2014 and used as a seat store until this month.

One for Marcus...

There were a couple of Nesbit Bros coaches at the Cresset Panto today, one of
which had a Gretton sticker in the windscreen (S684RWG).

Are they having to hire in coaches?

Hi Phil

I think the sticker referred to Gretton, the village in Rutland, rather than Gretton the company. We were certainly not hiring Nesbit's today.

Sorry to be picky - I think you will find that Gretton is in Northants (in Corby District Council area).

Van Hool Alizee bodied Scania K113 N51FHL has been withdrawn following a structural failure and Scania K112 RJI6859 (D559BAV) has been relicenced to cover. However a surprising long term replacement is a Plaxton Paragon bodied Dennis R Series, new to Neneway Coaches as RB02NWY, but now registered AU02VUY. It has not entered service yet, but is expected to retain full Neneway livery in the short term.

Marcus, do we know whether Neneway have a replacement, or are they just
going to run the 2  Autosans, and whether he still has EDF271T the 1979 Leopard?

I don't know about any replacement. As far as I know EDF271T is still at his yard, but hasn't been moved for some time.

Recent happenings here has seen H822RWJ withdrawn in May on expiry of its MoT certificate. P369JSP is expected to be withdrawn when its MoT expires in mid July. As of today Iveco ONL122 has reverted to a previous registration of P472AYJ. ONL122 is now on a private car.

As Peterborough school contracts are up for renewal this year, expect an influx of replacement vehicles by September.

Scania K112 RJI6859, Scania K93's G708LKW, H822RWJ, Scania K113's M260TAK, N51FHL, Mercedes-Benz 814D P369JSP and Iveco EuroRider P472AYJ have all now departed from the fleet. The fleet has been reduced to just 8 vehicles for the future, partially as a result of the national shortage of qualified drivers.

That's a bit of a reduction, have they lost/relinquished any contracts?
