Ah, who knows? None of the vehicles had any window stickers and the Sun Fun people I spoke to knew next to nothing. The only definite RR was Peterborough to Spalding which does not attract much traffic during the day. However, Both Hull trains and Grand Central were stopping in Peterborough which does not
usually happen. None of the departure/arrival boards in the station were indicating RR coaches. I saw Hamiltons, Cambridge Coachways, Redferns and PC Coaches unloading, but no indication where they had come from. I believe the problem was between Grantham and Peterborough so the RR could have been
any of the operators that come through Grantham.

Peterborough is quite 'lucky' in that there are 7 (I think) passenger operating companies using Peterborough station and each one uses different operators.

For some (unconnected?) reason East Midlands Trains were advertising Rail Replacement in operation on the Joint Line via Spading. This may have been to release Nottingham/Lincoln traincrew due to disruption caused by the ECML problem.

EMT had rail rep between Peterborough and Spalding due to the location of where the 91 took the wires down, almost opposite where the Spalding branch peels off the ECML at Werrington.
7 spans of ohl were damaged on the fast lines as a result.

More rail replacement in Peterborough today. Cross Country between Peterborough and Leicester and East Midland between Peterborough and Norwich. The line to Ely was open so CC could continue from Peterborough, and EM were operating direct to Norwich

Lots of different operators as usual, but amongst the ones not usually seen on
RR in this area were:

Macpherson of Donisthorpe in Derbyshire
Viking Coaches of Swadlincote
Lloyds of Machynlleth
Ridleys of Leamington Spa

Also, There were a couple of all white coaches from Ambassador. They are not seen very often in this
area on RR, and Freestones Megabus liveried Scania was also around.

I did not see any of the Stagecoach dedicated RR fleet.

I think that was Carters has I had a look at the legals on that coach.

There was also bus replacement between Ipswich and Peterborough - my other half was caught up in it. Well, the closure was between Ipswich and Bury, and the intention was to drop passengers for points west at Ely to continue by EMT train, but because of problems with connections coming out of the ECML closure they decided just to continue some of the coaches to Peterborough. Wise move, don't want to strand people on a Sunday night...

Little bit RR this AM on Great Northern between Peterborough/Huntingdon/Hitchin.

Welham Coaches and Go-Ahead were doing the honours and Nationwide of Peterborough
were on standby. Not seen a Go-Ahead here before on RR duties. This one was from
the Luton depot/outstation.

Popped down to Peterborough railway station yesterday pm to see if there was anything
about. What it appeared had just happened was that a Virgin EC southbound had just emptied
all its passengers and a couple of hundred people were milling about outside. I believe there were
some overhead line issues further south.

A couple of Youngs coaches finally turned up around 3 pm and a North Star Bova about 30 mins later.

In the meantime a fleet of private hire cars were being used to take anyone bound for Heathrow, Gawick or
Eurostar. When I left there were still many people left so I assume more coaches were on the way.

365512 was photographed by someone on railforums.co.uk at St Neots having brought the wires down (on all four lines, such are headspans), with pantograph hanging off the side of the train.

Some hastily arranged RR from Peterborough this evening after a freight train derailed in the Manea area.

This has stopped services between Peterborough and Ely, which obviously affects Cambridge,Norwich,Stansted, etc
and affects East Midland Trains, Greater Anglia and Cross Country.

A quick trip to the railway station on my way home saw one of each of the following:

Youngs
Coach of Langtoft
Mil-Ken
Fowlers
Nationwide

There seems to be some difficulty sourcing vehicles today.  Rowe of Nuneaton and Dodsworths (York Pullman) in Norwich on the Peterborough run.  Simonds in Ely on one of the Peterborough journeys this evening but the other coach that I saw was from Sidcup Coaches.

Quite agree, I managed to get down to Peterborough station yesterday afternoon and was surprised to see York Pullman operating on behalf of  Stagecoach East Midlands, and there were several Essex operators in evidence. Apparently there were 2 Ensign Chinese double deckers earlier in the day - which of course I missed!

I also saw a Sidcup coaches vehicle a tatty looking Eurorider X449RFF, I think they are a trading name for a company in Essex.

There is scheduled disruption on the same line over the bank holiday weekend as a bridge is being replaced in the Whittlesey area, but I understand the coach operators have already been chosen for this.

Sidcup Coaches are based in Sidcup south London.
At one time they owned the ex Premier Travel Royal Tiger Doyen C519 KFL. Currently laid up somewhere untaxed.
Which would suggest to me see might had been scrapped, unless someone knows better.

That may be so, but this one carried the disc of Transport Business Services Limited of Purley, and one of their trading names
is Sidcup Coaches, so it may be the same company or may not! - I was quoting from memory regarding the disc details, with so many Essex operators around at the time the brain got confuddled.

The phone numbers are different, but the UK gov site where you can check all these things is not working at the moment.
