VISIT TO ENSIGNBUS

The second of our 2016 visits are planned for Saturday 14th May 2016. We shall be visiting the very central premises of EnsignBus, Purfleet.

The visit will be approximately 75-90 minutes to this large depot premises, which will include the stock held as a bus dealer.

Those wanting to travel by public transport, are advised to use the c2c train service, leaving from London Fenchurch Street at 10.40, via Limehouse, West Ham, Barking, Dagenham Dock, Rainham, and alight at Purfleet Station (train continues to Grays). This is in the London Oyster scheme, although just outside the London Travelcard area. Upon arrival of the train at Purfleet Station, a minibus from EnsignBus will pick us up, and take us around to their premises in the Industrial Area.  If there are more than about seven people, any excess may need to board the 44 (£1.00 single, ENCTS valid) and the driver will be asked to pause at the road end for the industrial estate. For the return leg, we shall be dropped at the bus stop for Service 44 back to Lakeside or Purfleet Station, and participants will then be at leisure as to what to do. Trains continue to run every 30 minutes into the evening (daytime xx08 and xx38 towards Grays, xx26 and xx56 towards central London), and there are no planned engineering works on c2c that day.

Those wishing to travel by car can park at Intu Lakeside, using Service 44 to get to Purfleet, then as above. Alternatively you can cross the road for a 15 minute walk through the industrial estate. If you wish to undertake this option, and meet us at the garage gates, please let us know.

Hi-Viz will be required, and Suzy will have a few for borrowing.

There will be no charge for this visit, other than paying your own transport costs to get there.

Want to come? Just send me a Private Message with your name, mobile phone number, email address, how many people, and whether or not you need a hi-viz. Bookings close on Monday 9th May 2016. This trip is open to everyone, Forum members or not, and there are no restrictions on the numbers who can attend.
