New Buses for Delaine
« on: July 11, 2016, 09:52:38 AM »
I heard yesterday that Wrightbus have agreed to built two more double-deckers to the same specification as AD65DBL. It is expected that they will both be delivered in November, one will enter service as AD66DBL, whilst the second one will be stored and enter service in March as AD17DBL.

I have been informed the 163 AD17DBL has now been delivered and is in store. However 162 AD66DBL has been delayed and will be arriving in a fortnight or so.

Call me a traditionalist, if you like, but I think colour schemes which follow the window-lines (like The Delaine's) do more for a bus than than any number of swoops and swirls.

Of course, being nit-picky there are minor changes I'd like even there!

It's nice, agreed, but doesn't follow the window line on the front (and looks a bit odd as a result!)

I agree. Great looking livery however the front doesn't quite look right with the straight against the curves. Could this have been a slight variation just for the front.  Be interesting if the buy the new body next (is that the gemini 3?) The straight angles may suit that better.

Agreed. That's exactly the minor change I would make.

According to 'Buses' magazine Delaine has ordered its first new Euro6 single decker which
will be a 12m Volvo B8RLE with Wright Eclipse 3 B45F body.

The report also states that this will begin the gradual replacement
of the six single decker Volvo B7RLEs.
