NX Service 499 from the 1970s
« on: October 04, 2017, 05:28:24 am »
Oxford are about to release a model of Eastern Counties LS804 in National Express livery (unfortunately).  This has the destination screens showing 499 Ely.  Where did this service go to? It may have been a short lived replacement for one of Eastern Counties lettered services which ran from Ely to Great Yarmouth, I think, on summer Saturdays.  Anyone have better information about the service or the actual vehicle?  The link to a picture of the model is on the http://www.britishmodelbuses.com/ website.  Click on news.

I did an on line search for the vehicle which brings up the outline history and a couple of pictures but both are of the coach once it had been downgraded and modified as a bus.

This Oxford model looks very nice.  It has already appeared as a Royal Blue vehicle.  It is something of a curious choice as the bodywork was only produced for one or two years and very few operators took it.
