Boro'line service 1987
« on: December 16, 2017, 10:12:48 am »
Does anyone remember this Canterbury to Cambridge service and did anyone ever see it or photograph vehicles on it?

Boro’line Maidstone was the municipal business owned by Maidstone Borough Council. In the early days of coach service deregulation the company was a participant in the joint Blackpool to Dover ‘City Flyer’ service created with various other municipally owned companies. One of these was Burnley and Pendle Joint Transport that used a witch and broomstick logo based on the Pendle Witches legend.

It would appear that Boro’line retained the logo for their service from Canterbury to Cambridge contained in this Summer 1987 leaflet.

To answer your question David. Yes
HKR 11 was a Wrights Contor bodied Bedford YNT and is seen on Lay-over at Premier Park.  Had they someone to do an AM from Cambridge over to Kent. I might had used the service.
They also used an ex Kenzie Duple bodied Bedford YMT TER 5S on the service. It was later rebodied with a Willowbrook service bus body. Also seen at premier park on lay-over.

Never ask a dustman to talk shop.
He will only talk a load of rubbish!
