My visit to King's Lynn - 22 Mar 2018
« on: March 24, 2018, 11:00:19 PM »
I had a trip to King’s Lynn on Thursday 22 March 2018, my first for a while mainly to see things before the pending changes at the end of April.

It was quite interesting how Stagecoach interwork the town services and as a result there was quite a varied selection of different vehicles working on them which included:

Optare Solos 47902, 47904, 47906, 47912
Optare Versa 25268
Optare Tempo 25127
East Lancs Myllenium Lolyne 18280
Trident/ALX400 18340, 18348
Coasthopper liveried Enviro200 MMC 37436

Other vehicles noted were:
Coasthopper liveried Enviro200 MMC 37431 working the Fakenham service X29
Enviro400 10055, 19696
Enviro300 27642, 27644, 27647
Trident/ALX400 18346

Coasthopper service (in Coasthopper livery):
Optare Solos 48032, 48033, 48034

I have posted the first of my photographs in this album although have a few more to add over the next few days:

Not sure if your going back before Stagecoach finish at the end of the month, but if you do you might want to go round Lynx yard in Acer Road, there is four or five blue and yellow Tempos from Kinchbus parked up in there

I don't think there are any markings on them, I should imagine they could be a cheap branded "coastliner" liveried bus, but that's just me guessing

I photographed one on Thursday, but for some reason I cannot post the picture. Something about
the avatar not writable and cannot be saved. Is it me or is there a problem?

It was on service 34 and was registered YJ60KAK, but no Lynx markings.

Now added by TCD813.

Thanks to Sam W for technical fix.

That sounds odd. The only thing I can imagine is that you inadvertently try to upload it to your profile page instead of your post.

I could try for you if you’re able to email it to me.

Best regards,
Richard.

The yellow & blue Tempos are ex-Transdev Lancashire United ones that were withdrawn a couple of months ago, the other half of that batch still being advertised for sale (Kinch only have 3 and all were in service last Saturday when I passed through Loughborough and are a couple of years older).  YJ60KAK was already in service when I visited Kings Lynn on the 24th March, you wonder how many of the 8 they have bought since you would have thought they would be trying to get as many as possible of them branded/liveried up before the new services start particularly as, if KAK is anything to go by, the paint job is a little tired.

Had a look down Acer Road tonight, battery was dead on the phone so couldnt take any photos, there was three 60 plate Kinchbus bus Tempos in the years next to a Kinchbus Y reg Optate

Also down there was three maybe 4 green liveried Trent Barton Tempos and the oddest buses of all was 2 red Wright gemini deckers from London both still had the middle doors

Thanks to Sam W the problem's now fixed, and I've added the photo to the original post.
